Mollie's Hut and Maud's Hut are traditional shepherd's huts, available to rent on a bed and breakfast basis for holidays and short breaks. Here you can enjoy the peace and quiet of the Somerset countryside — the perfect glamping escape from a busy life in the city. The two huts are situated in their own paddocks on our smallholding in the quiet village of Trudoxhill in Somerset. Frome is 5 miles to the east, Longleat House 3 miles, and Stourhead 8 miles to the south. The huts have been carefully restored and each one provides comfortable accommodation for two people. Lanterns and candles are provided as lighting and there is a woodburning stove to help keep you warm on cold nights. A fully equipped kitchen is provided nearby, with a supply of fresh eggs, local bacon, bread butter, home made marmalade, tea, ground coffee, etc for guests to make breakfast. |
The huts each accommodate up to two people. Linen and towels are provided. Each hut has its own shower/loo and kitchen a short walk from the hut. Dogs are welcome as long as they do not chase the sheep. Guests may arrive anytime between 4.00 pm and 6.00 pm (except by special arrangement), and are asked to depart by 11.00 am. A delicious home-made cake will be waiting for you on your arrival. A fire bowl, together with the necessary fuel, is provided outside the hut if you want to barbeque your own food. There are also many wonderful pubs and restaurants nearby, including:

We just wanted to write to you to say thank you for such a fantastic stay at you lovely farm
in Maud's hut. Thank you for the most magical stay, we can honestly say this is the most wonderful place that we have ever stayed in. Thank you for the little treats that made it so memorable, you have such a beautiful home, with gorgeous happy animals, it really is a little piece of heaven, we will be back very soon.. Beautiful host beaming with kindness, we thank you for the most wonderful stay and will definitely see you again. A fabulous 50th birthday treat, peaceful and friendly absolutely fabulous love the place, amazing host. Thank you for the delicious brownies and local ingredients for full English breakfast, much appreciated. It is so relaxing here only stayed 1 night but it feels like we have been here longer. Loved watching the sheep going bonkers in field, I kind of want to keep this place a secret, we will definitely be back. We survived storm Katy in Maud's hut! Lovely facilities well done. Will definitely be back, loved seeing the lambing. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so welcome. Diana greeted us with a huge smile, and instantly made us feel so comfortable
at her home. The cake was by far the best we have ever tasted, we stayed in Mollie's hut it was beautiful. A wonderful stay in Maud's hut for just 1 night (we wish we could have stayed longer). We were very comfortable and warm and had everything we needed, If you ever need a couple
of farm workers we would leave our lives in Essex behind, we loved everything about it. This is our second visit, we were lucky enough to be the first people to stay in the new hut Maud. It was an amazing stay, incredible views, so comfy. This place is incredible, Diana is a fantastic host, so welcoming. It's lovely to be close to all the friendly animals who say hello every morning. Thoroughly recommend as a perfect way to relax unwind and get away. Can't wait to come back soon! Idyllic location, deep
sleep beneath the stars, cosy morning with wood burner
and sumptuous breakfast, what more could a shepherd want? Very many thanks. A poor life this if full of care, we have no time to stop and stare.
Thank you for making a necessary stopover into the most delightful Despite the weather being a bit blustery we couldn't have hoped for a lovelier time. Sat around the fire pit 2 nights running toasting marshmallows. Heard the barn owl, the stove kept the hut lovely and warm, great seeing all
the animals on the farm, Max roamed freely. Diana and David were wonderful
hosts, very welcoming , enjoyed the sloe gin and the lemon cake, and Diana's
home made marmalade, will definitely be back soon.
